There are some bolts that keep working loose from the bottom of the front seats on my '97 18 classic.
Is there a way to remove the front buckets so I can fix this once and for all (without removing the base)?
Thanks,
Jeff
I had that problem on my 16, the blind securing nuts had let go. What I did was to take piece of 1/4"X2"X6" stainless plate I marked it for the two front holes and drilled and tapped it for 1/4-20. Now the tricky part working through the fuel inspection plate I taped imy plate to a thin strip of metal and slide it in under the base, there is only about 1-1/2" between the tank top and the floor. It took a bit of:cussball: to finally get the screws started, but once tightened up it gave me no more trouble for the three years that I owned. On the 16 it was impossible to get to the base from the tub side.

Last but not least un screw the adjusting rod and pull it out the seat will slide off its base, id it is a rathet type I am not sure how they slide off.

Thanks,
I suspected I could get the seat off without getting into the floor.
I'll work it tonight.
