I am going to offer my boat for sale only to people on the board as i don't want just anyone to have it.
If no one here wants it i will obviously be keeping it forever
I am going to move into a cruiser and an get an 18 or 16 for a replacement of this
This will not be for sale until after the AOTH and possibly Lake George. If anyone is interested in seeing the boat it will definitely be at both of those events.
the boat is in Canada
This might be a little aggressive compared to some of the other boats that are priced but i am very firm
The boat is a 1996 Blackhawk with custom graffics
these are factory graffics and are in the gel.
I have not put them on the boat
As far as I know this is not one of the only 44 with the chicken on the front :) but rather a man's edition
I have redone everything in the past couple of years and have not spared any expenses
I have all of the receipts
In the past couple of years I have spend at least double the asking price on this boat
It has a 500hp 502 with the backhawk drive
this is a marinized crate motor that has been completely rebuilt to the merc 500 specs
it has a carb right now but i do have the efi system for the original 502 that i imaging can be made to work on this motor
this past winter the transom and stringers have been completely replaced as they were showing a little water penetration at the motor mounts
at that time a full hydraulic steering system was added
also new dash etc...
if you are interested drop me a PM. or e-mail me
this is a solid 80+ MPH boat with 4 people and full tank of gas- THIS IS NOT FOR INEXPERIENCED BOATERS-blackhawks are not for everyone
trentonglassandwindows@cogeco.net
picture is last year before the steering etc was added
Hate to see you let her go, she is a runner! One of the nicest sounding engines, if you don't sell her I hope to share some suds on the island again! If you do sell her you can bring your cruiser if you like!!

I will be in the 1000 islands no matter what
It is going to take a special person to want this boat so there is a good chance i will still be running it

if someone is on the bubble about this boat

Been toying off and on about selling this boat
I am running 2 boats and wouldn't have it any other way right now
but being the way i am i am always think of different things etc
like maybe an 18- haven't had one of those yet or a small fastec or something
I feel vulnerable and if someone made me a reasonable offer on this boat I would probably take it
with all the work and time I have on this and the way it is running I am very confident that I could sell this to my neighbour and never have to hide when pulling into my house for fear he would be shooting at me :)
I'm in lake george next weekend if someone wants a rip in it

kind of really want to go to an 18 sooner than later
I really, really like this X18 that Bob made us aware of on a previous thread;

I sure hope it ends up in a good donzi.net member's home like Yours.
P.S. It reminds me of a boat that was advertized way back as the "brochure
boat". I wonder if it's the same one? D.S.
The brochure boat was a 1975 I think. Mr X (Ted) owned that one and sold it to a collector in Oregon. Believe that collection is broken up though and I don't know where the boats went, I bet Ted or other forum members know. Collector had a red totally restored Ski Sporter 16 and blue Chris Craft XK19. Both were restored with a more modern twist that I personally didn't find very tastful, so I hope Ted's X-18 didn't go through the same resto program.
Here's a few shots that Ted posted elsewhere on the forum of his boat. As You can tell I found that boat delightful. The tangerine interior doesn't fall all folks in the taste, but I think that's what makes these boats look great. Well we all have different taste, most agree though that there's not many boats with a design more beautiful than the Donzi X-18!

Shea - going to bring my boat out of hybernation soon so we need to do a last Donzi run in case someone snaps up the hawk. Good luck on the sale, and obviously you can't go wrong with a Formula.
