I want to remove the hydraulic components from my Critter and use 2 late style twist latches and 2 gas shocks. Any idea's where to buy these reasonably? since the factory insists I use a dealer network... I need 2 new latch assembly's and 2 receivers.

thanx

Jim are you looking for the twist latch like on most classics?

Jamie @ Lakeside.....
He can also furnish the gas strut hardware, of course you can get your own struts.

We will let you know.. I sent a request to Donzi with the #'s of what would be needed to confirm pricing.. (this could take a few days depending on how ambitious they are this week.. :) )... Jamie / Lakeside

What about a Lenco? You can still eliminate the trim pump.

Lenco looks like a nice option. If you still want manual, look at this site for gas springs. I'm guessing that the Critter hatch is larger than an 18 (and maybe a 22) so you might need a more robust unit. McMaster Carr carries their standard stuff along with the mounting hardware, ball sockets, etc.

Do a search on mcmaster.com for "gas spring". Info is on pages 1167, 1168, 1169, etc. I think you'll find everything you need for that part of the setup. Donzi might have to come into play for the logo'd chrome latches.
