That's hilarious..... and sad. Such a waste of a good Whipple charger.

Now thats a sleeper! He would have eaten my lunch! Although, I can't recall ever racing a bow rider? :)

Yeah, it would definitely be tough to explain to the guys on the docks that ya got your nuts handed to you by a bowrider with a tube tied to the transom and bumpers hanging off the side.:eek:

Wow :eek!:

I think this guy has it all figured out.

Find some rube go-fast on the lake and bet him gas money. ;)

I don't know how "figured out" he's got it..... 700+ HP motor with tons of high $$$$ stuff like the IMCO drive, all on a 22' boat that tops out at 80.1 MPH.

I had a 26' Velocity with a 540 hp NA 468, stock Bravo 1 and no other big dollar items that topped out at 84 mph, cruised at 60 mph and could run either of those numbers in 2' - 3' chop and I bet you I had less money in my boat than he does.

To me its a huge waste. That same 700+ HP would have put my Velocity close to the century mark.

Well, maybe he can afford it.
My BIL has the same boat w/stock SBC and it's a 45 MPH boat (maybe).
To do 80 in this hull w/stock manifolds and through prop exhaust is pretty incredible.
I'd be a fan.
Gas money.....tank is now $200.00!:eek!::eek!::eek!:

I think what happened is that the Mrs. and kids wanted a family/ski/wakeboard boat. He wanted a 35 ZR. Compromises were reached. Kids and the Mrs. get their family boat, he gets his performance boat. Hell, if I had to buy a family boat for the wife and kids, I would want a 800 hp bow rider, who wouldn't?

I think this boat showing up at your lake is your worst nightmare. I am one of the fastest boats out here and I sure as hell wouldn't want this thing showing me up!

Went for 19,000.00. With that engine, certifiably dynoed and 80+ mph, I think than was a steal. Hell, it was a nice Crownline without the meaty motor.

Does Buiz have 19,000.00 laying around? Be funny if it showed up at AOTH next year. A lot of Classics would be eating crow. On the other hand, a few of them would probably be able to give it more than a run.

I really don't think I would want to be in that particular hull design at that speed and hit any swells or wakes...LMAO:eek!:

But I see the same thing where I primarily boat at...Guys buying crownlines and trying to supercharge or stuff strokers in them....

You fight hull design and weight issues with family boats as well as the handling issues...They all think that by stuffing the compartment with high HP engines it is possible to beat the other guy with the Velocity Hull...

wonder what the designed hull speed for a crowline is?? that motor might write checks the hull can't cash.

A fast boat with no sex appeal, I'll take a slower Donzi any day .
