Good pump for a stocker or mild modifyed engine and alot quieter then the holly blue pump...check this one out as well.

I ran a non-marine version of that Carter for a few years on a 302 powered Maverick street/strip car with no problems. Heck, even got it from Summit as I recall.

I was a poor starving student then and went with it mainly because it was cheep. It did the job and never gave me any issues. Yeah, I could hear it, but only until I started the car (header mufflers only and no interior to speak of was sorta loud...I actualy wore ear plugs to drive it to the track)

Should provide plenty of flow for most carb'ed motors short of a full race build.

The holleys are really noisy.

Just another question....It seems to be regulated @ 8 PSI. Anyone have an idea if I could get by w/o a regulater????
It seems like you could.

As I remember, doesn't the average Holly carb like a little less?

I'd bet you could get away with it; just play with the jetting a bit.

I have the same pump on a 5.7L 300+ HP Mercruiser with an Edelbrock 600 CFM without a regulator. I have not had a problem at all except the positive terminal boot came loose once and it shut down. I would recommend terminals with nuts.
