If you guys ever wanted to come my way (Lake Ontario/ Bay of Quinte/ 1000 isles) the land mass that sticks out into Lake Ontario on a map

I would be more than happy to find some places to stay and some water to tour :)

I would be about 1 1/2h east of Toronto

The past 2 years, the Torch lake event has been the 2nd Saturday in August. For '08, that day is the 9th.

Therefore, be it resolved that Saturday, August 9, 2008 is the 3rd annual MADCOW Event on Torch Lake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any details about the Torch lake event? I'm planning on being there, going to be a long weekend hopefully. Are we doing Torch both days or are we going to try Crystal or Charlevoix one of the days? Any hotel suggestions? Looking forward to running with the Madcows!

From another thread if any of you decide to put in on Elk Lake here is a map showing Elk, Skegemog and Torch River.

Like I mentioned in the other thread you guys could stay in Elk Rapids and hit Torch one day and the big pond/bays the next.

Hopefully this works.

We'll be there for sure, gonna make it a long weekend and be up there Friday or Monday as well. We're looking forward to running with whoever shows on some clear water and hopefully sunny skies.:boat:

Patti and I will be looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday and boating Charlevoix on Sunday. Any takers? Possibly venturing to the U.P. on Monday. Anyone ever run the St. Marys between Detour pass and Saulte St. Marie?

Lodging: We be staying at the Americinn on US 31 two miles out of Charlevoix. It's similar to a Holiday Inn Express. There is plenty of boat parking and cab service available to Charlevoix and Boyne City. Front desk (231)237-0988. They had 8 rooms left as of today.

We'll be there Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Looking forward to seeing everybody and running on Torch, Charlevoix, etc. for the first time. What launch ramp should we use on Torch? Is there a plan to meet up at a specific time and place?

Brad Hulce and I are putting in at the township park at the northernmost tip of the lake on Saturday at 10 am. Anyone who'd like to join us for a roar down the lake at 10 is welcome to join. If you aren't there, we're not waiting for you.

As far as the rest of the day, I plan to explore the Clam and Torch Rivers, visit a friend on the lake, hang some at the sandbar, etc. To the best of my knowledge, no one is organizing anything special. If you are, step up.

There are a lot of other boating options within an hour's drive from the area for those who are making a weekend of it.

PS: If Ma Nature doesn't cooperate, I'm staying home.
