aahhhhh, What is a "Performer" .

How long is it? What kind of drives behind the 454's?

------This model DONZI (Performer) must be exceedingly rare as it isnt even among the models list available here on the registry. I would also love to see some pics.....Bill S

it's NOT a Donzi at all, Performer popped the 28 hull and made a completely different deck and ****pit, compare my '72 Cary hull to a later era 28 Performer and you'll see where they cut the sides, etc. etc... Performer actually did a pretty nice job with it, an arguably better layout than the original Donzi thinking

My Boss and his brother owned Performer, Then sold it to a buisness man in VA, He shut it down in 1992 because of the luxery tax.. Great boats, No wood (other than the transom) unless you wanted teak trim. When I worked there we built a 24' (Harry Shoel hull) and a 32' Twin Diesel.

Really need a scanned copy of the title on this one to keep it in the Donzi For Sale Section.

I was pretty exhaustive in collecting the Model Listing and never came across something called the "Performer."

It might be a really excellent pop of a Sportsman, but that still doesn't make it an Original Donzi. One of the objectives to the Donzi For Sale Section is to vet the boats offered for authenticity.
A '78 will have a HIN. We need that. I also know that specialty shops would "improve" Donzi's, kinda like making a Morris Mini into a Mini Cooper and then add their own name. Allot of Sunbeam Alpines, became Tigers and so on.

I'll leave it here, till a determination can be made if its a retrofitted Sportsman or a well done pop.
It suffices for now to note that the provenance is in question.

Anyway you look at it, it's still a beautiful boat.

I think the discussion in this thread is on 2 different boats? The one with pictures is a Donzi - the one referred to in the first post is a Performer?

The one with pictures could still be a Donzi. And the one with out pictures could also, still be a Donzi.
