Geoo, Could you expand that picture to the left? I'd be interested in seeing what that engine is producing. Webbers would be a tuff set-up for your average everyday boater, but for someone who has worked with carbs and understands the balancing, what a package! :) What a WOW factor!

Scott,
-----I believe you are looking at a big-block with fuel injection in that pic on the left-hand side. A very cool Merc package from the past, but definetly not suited for everyday use!.......Bill S

Hey guys, small world huh!
The 1988 372ci 500hp Merc was from a post that I put on OSO last week.
The pic on the left is the 1988 Mercruiser 500EFI. displacement was 495ci and it made 700+ hp @5800 rpm. 12.5:1 comp solid roller cam and tuned stack Mercury Electronic Fuel Injection. They were only available to qualified professional race teams

Thanks Bill and Kurt. When I first saw it, I thought it might have been a fuel injection system like the World of Outlaw sprint cars run. Kinsler I think or something close to that. Anyway, I also knew that Webber carbs have been used in the marine industry, so I thought that is what we had here. Thanks for the info.
Hello Merc? I'd like to rent race engines for the 2004 Offshore Racing Circuit. Do I have an account? Well of course I do.....Lightning Boldt Racing at Donzi Marine of Sarasota, FL.
What do you think? Would that one fly? I didn't think so either, but it doesn't hurt to try! :D
Scott - No professional that's for sure!
