Is it for sale?

I keep opening up this thread and staring at those pictures. What a beautiful boat. It would be nice for a board member to get it and restore it.

Looks just like the one I saw in Corpus Christi in the '80's at Gulf Coast Marine.

All the 28 Baron's were built in 1970. They only made 11 of them.

Not sure what year it is. Not sure if it's for sale.
I don't think it's a 28, not quite that long. Could be wrong though. I doesn't seem as big as my 27 sport.

It was sitting behind a building, so I don't have any contact info. If someone wants the location details or more pics, PM me.

I stopped in and spoke with the guy who works out of the building.
It's his grandson's and It's not for sale. He said he was going to restore it.

The guy that does my drives, Galen @ Speedmasters has a 28 behind his shop that's for sale. $35K (he doesn't really want to sell).

All original small block Chevy's in front of Volvo drives with nibral props.

These are beautiful boats. The lines flow very much the way a Donzi Classic does in my oppinion. My favorite so far is the naturally the white with blue trim one with the bolsters. Sorry red fans, always have loved blue boats.

Although I must admit the red one being towed by a Cadillac convertable is way mucho classy!

Schifo, what do you mean by never rigged? Is this an original 28' Baron hull, does it have a deck or an interior. I am actually quite interested, but need to know what it is first.

I know Galen well. I've had him do work for me, and I stop in occasionally to BS with him. He rebuilt the drives, and trannies for a friend of mine right down the road, that's been restoring a 38 Comp for a couple of years. As a matter of fact, Galen sold my friend the lot he keeps the 38 on.

The 38 Comp my friend is restoring, has Trs drives. He's done with rigging, and is working on the deck right now. I lent him my orbital sander. It raced as "Needle Nose".

Does anyone know where this boat came from and why it was never rigged? Is it a splash or a Bertram factory original?

Galen is a magician with the Mercruiser stuff, especially the older equipment. From the stuff on his walls it looks like he worked on some of the legendary stuff down in Miami "back in the day". I love listening to some of the stories about the "good ole days".

It's a small world, especially for high performance boating in Central Florida. There's only about 4 places that I would let touch my boat and 3 of them are in DeLand.
