...a while back had a drought-induced record low level, exposing an archaeological trove. Uncovered items included Indian artifacts, a hundred year old catfishing boat, and a ton of trash.

The recent AL/GA/FL water conference resulted in a stalemate, which now means the feds will impose a decision.

What the heck's the deal down there, you guys?
Never a dull moment, 'eh?

With all the BAD news last year about the drought and lakes drying up, I'm looking for some GOOD news. Is the water is coming back yet? Looking at the daily weather reports all winter with weather systems passing over the south east, I would hope things were looking better. Anyone live near Lake Lanier??

It seems the water levels here in FL are not altogether natural.
Starting two years ago the Corps of Engineers started lowering water levels in February trying to premeditate another severe storm season.
Then there haven't been any more storms to speak of. It is a fact that rainfall has been lower than normal, but water levels could have been a lot higher.
