Canadian mileage/odomoter, KMs or Miles? GM truck

I think I've got a cluster making noise and I'm looking at a replacement/upgrade from a guy in Alberta, Canada. Just wondering if the odometer displays in KMs or miles and if anyone knows whether it can be changed. This would be for an '01 GMC.

It likely will be kilos but miles are also shown, just smaller...Ed

It is switchable, you might have to search the web to find out how to do it. or you could call a local dealer. the steps are pretty simple. we buy them all the time for the dealership and switch them over.

OK, so it can be done. I have no idea what to search on but if I have to pay a dealer an hour of labor it might not be worth it.

i just talked to my chevy store, they are telling me that it can't be done. i have calls into a few other techs because i know we've done it here at my used car lot.

i just talked to my in house tech, he needs the year and model of your truck. he say's it can be done.
