I haven't seen the 525 hp, blown Mercury engine in a classic. What sort of performance with this motor and a properly set up outdrive?

thanks,

You mean the 525SC. It would fly. What size classic? All sorts of hp has been put in various classics.

The blown 525 was a 525 SC. They don't make it anymore. When he said blown 525, that is what I thought he was talking about. I may have taken it too literally:doh:

Yes, I am familiar with the current 525 rated at 500 shp (actually some of them have dynoed at 540 at the crank) and know it is a N/A motor with the Edelbrock heads. That would be a better choice as it would fit under the hatch much better

I thought he may have found an older one that someone had installed a SC version.

I do know that Mr X put a 600 SC in a Classic 22 one time. It hauled ass! I have seen the video. Maybe someone that saw it first hand can elaborate.

Blown motor to me means either it's SC'd or it has come apart in a bad way:smash: . Kramermic must have a 525 SC that they don't make anymore then. What performance? Low 80s maybe. The 22C can handle that and a lot more.

Lenny,
That wouldn't happen to be an X-18 would it?

I know ...you are not talking!!!

That would be a nice package in a 18. Packed in there but nice. I would think that with alum heads and a lighter exhaust that the weight difference would not be staggering.
