I read an article on that yesterday. Cool stuff. The space shuttle landing as well as other factors played into the Navy only having, I think, a 10 minute window to take the shot. Very interesting.:salute:

I think you are right Buiz... at the orbit it was in, JUSTLEFT reported that it was going horizon to horizon in 2 minutes. In terms of distance, a 10 second difference requires a massive range of tracking ability on the part of the missile itself. Very cool.

Technology is amazing stuff ....
Let's hope we can build on this experience to later on take out any stray meteorites that could do serious harm ..
Maybe I've been watching too many sci fi movies ..... :doh:
