If there is interest, I can set up a Daytona 500 event in the casino....

Now we're talkin' ------

I'm tired of seeing the Hendricks boys every week.
Ironically, that's where Earnhardt ended up. Love to see Jr take it , but several others come to mind also.

Say a Harvick repeat, or Mark Martin squeeze him out.

Not a Jarrett fan but it's his last 500 and he's got a decent car.

Clint Boyer, Dave Blaney for the upset ?

OK. In the Casino, under NHL, cause that's where I can put it, there is now a Daytona 500 betting pool.

I tried to get as many in the poll as I could that I thought actually had a great shot. There are definetly some that I think could pull an upset- Kasey Kahne, Ryan Newman, Bower, Sadler, Jarrett, etc... I think if you did not choose someone on the poll, then you should put in the thread who you think will win.

Personally, although I am not really a Dale Jr fan, he has won the Shootout, won his 125, and has Hendrick power. Plus, he has his daddy's genes and Dale Earnhardt, love him or hate him, was the best restrictor plate driver Nascar has ever seen. Seems Dale Jr inhereted some of it.

Steve, placed my bet. How do the odds work? 2 for 1?

When the dust settles, I'll say it'll be Mark Martin in the DEI #8 car.

Although I voted for Dale Jr, Waltrip has won it before, sits on the outside poll, and is a damn good restrictor plate racer. Could his Toyota end up in victory lane? His car was good enough to drop to the back in the 125 Thursday and push Dale Jarrett up to the front to get him in the 500. With that point, Dale Jarrett has won it 3 times and given good enough equipment, could be a factor in his Toyota.

I would like to see Mark Martin win it, especailly after losing to Harvick last year by inches. He has never won a championship or the 500 and he deserves both.

It's a winner take all pool. All the wagers placed are divided by the people who took the winner based on the amount they bet.
If you bet 75 and I bet 25 and we were the only people to pick the winners, then we would split the entire pot 75% to you 25% to me.....

I'll see if I can some "prop" type bets.....
Sort of like - first caution will take place beftween laps 0-5 or 6-10 or 11-15 or 16-20 or 21-25....

Let me know if you have any more you want to add.

Hmmm....after Toyotas dominance in the 300 at Daytona, I might have voted too quickly. Might should have voted for a Yota driver.

I take it you mean JJ Yeley? Starting 37, definetly a dark horse to win.

Seems the betting in the Casino is pretty spread out.

I voted for Clint Bowyer (someone else) because I like to drink Jack Daniels...especially JD Single Barrel.

So Daytona Sports Poolies .......
What should we do, the winner wasn't in our list, do we make the highest placing driver on the list the winner for the pool purposes?

My guy got wrecked by Juan Pablo.........

:wink: It doesn't give me that option....
I have to chose a winner, or call the whole thing a draw, and the only that sucks worse than not winning, is tieing....

OK, I'm no roundy-round fan; I think real race tracks turn both ways and have hills that follow the terrain.

But crap! I didn't even realize Daytona was this weekend. How'd I miss that?

Of course, when MotoGP, Superbike, and F1 get rolling, I'll be glad to join you guys in the pool.

And maybe, just maybe, if Cart and IRL get back together I might actually watch the 500 again.

Oh, the Tivo's already set...

If we're opening the casion for that one, I'll take Kimi.

So many questions -
Can Kimi repeat?
Will Hamilton suffer the sophmore slump?
Will Alonso bring the Renault back to the front?
Can BMW start getting regular podiums?
Will Toyota ever stop embarassing themselves?
