1997 was the last year of the 27ZX. The name was changed to 28ZX. It was the same size.

I have both a 27ZX and 1999 26ZX. Which one do you need?

i didnt know that ! LOL... we are trying to figure out if a shorty would do the boat well on a stepped hull ... he feels the drive is pretty low

Is that the guy down in Fla with the stepped 27ZX and blower motor? I think that boat is green.

If is is a stepped 27ZX, the boat likes a shorty. The Last Real Texan did that and got a few mph. Do a search and you should be able to find the results. He would priobably answer but he is out of the country right now.

the measurement is 8 to 8 1/4 inches bullet cone to keel. Yes it will work, mine was 8 inches and the shorty brought it to 6. This is on 97 twin step. Set up now runs to 82 smartly and tops out @ 85

Last Texan,
How did the shorty change the take off and planning on your boat? Does the prop blow out at low speeds? What prop do you use? Did you change pitch when you went with the shorter lower unit?
