I have seen a few Z29's late 80's I believe. I'm kinda getting a stiffy for one. Anybody have one ? or has info has far as ride and performance. There are probably not many around but, given time and patience$ we probably could round one up. Give me the scoop I am starting the investigation.

I own a 87 Classic 22 right now.

This is possibly the understatement of the year. Trueser's Z is awesome!

Great Boat!!! We just love it. The 33 is also a great looking hull. I have a chance to pick up a 33 for almost zero and I have to pass. I would say most of the 80 Z boats will need stringer and transom work if not already done. They are heavy but they run great. We may bring the Z29 down to AOTH this spring. Search the forums for Z29 and enjoy the ride.

We really need to have a separate Z section for just Z and ZX boats.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Rodger / Tony

I recently rode in Donzigo's Z33 w/2 new 496HO/Bravo's.
It's a 70 MPH boat.

70 that's quick enough for a big boat.

Hey Trueser will it fit under an 8' or 10' tall garage door while it's on a trailer ? How long ? from hitch to props.

I think mine would need 11 feet. Not sure it's in storage.

Lenght is around 37 feet.

70 MPH
What would it cost to install a pair of 496HO with Bravos? get your calculator out and start adding it up.

good luck

On the chance of being ridiculed, I am not an extreme nut about over powering a boat. With the hopes of a pair of stock magnums I bet one would perform well enough for my taste. I have gone 95 in a pickle fork and all that did was suck the beer out of the can I was holding. For some reason burning a bunch of fuel does not bother me as bad as seeing a good beer go to waste.
Generally how are these things powered.

This is Matt, Truesers son.
The Z29's handle excellent and there great for rough water! We've got twin 330HP small blocks in front of alpha drives, and have seen 64mph GPS. Yes they have great Lines!

Thanks Matt,
Great picture. I have started looking around to what's available. If someone knows of a decent one let me know. Keep in mind champagne taste, beer pocket book.

I found this one. In speaking with them, it sounds like a nice boat. Not quite the color scheme I prefer. Further discussion and I might go look next week. Sounds a bit high but they will take an offer.

Opinons?
