Those pics remind me of when I first fell in love.
About 1972 we went on a family vacation and my dad rented a houseboat and we cruised the inland water ways of Florida for 4 weeks. We went from the top to the bottom of Florida by boat and I was probably 13. When we hit Ft.Lauderdale, parts of it were like streets and you could see all the "rich" kids in Donzi's tied together partying.

Ahh, young love.

Wow! Now that is cool. I have to wonder where those boats are today. Maybe someone here owns one.

There is just something about candy striped interiors that really gets my heart pumping.

Those pictures look remotely familiar. If you look at the 16 with black sides and yellow deck , you'll see 4 carb stacks and 4 individual side exhausts. It belonged to a kid I knew at The Clinton River Boat Club, Lake St. Clair. Same with the white and red striped boat. My guess is this is a gathering Of the Lake St. Clair 55 mph club, circa 1972-3, at the mouth of the South Channel The 16 with the carb stacks had an autolite inline 4 barrel on a ford cross-boss manifold. It was fast.

Mark / "h20boater" posted them.....unearthed from the Emerald City collection. He's a walking (well, sometimes stumbling) encyclopedia of useless Offshore information, especially strong in the Magnum / Donzi / Mirage history departments. Attaching a picture of him from his formative years on Lake St. Clair. Check out his OSO classic thread, 'back in the day' & of course the Magnums on LSC. If ya pm him, he just might post some of his Donzi menagerie here.......

Thanks Superhatz, those are some great old photographs. The Blue sided 28, I believe resides near New Baltimore, Mi. just off 21 Mile Rd. The GT 21 with the twin v drives has got to be a one of a kind. I wonder what became of it? As a kid growing up on Lake St. Clair in the 60's & 70's I remember seeing I lot of cool Donzi's around Harsens Island. Everything from a powder blue F-14 to a yellow and white Corsican. Some of the board members from Michigan must recall some of these boats?
