Not a "Y" block. Gray's used American Motors [Rambler] blocks. I think the smaller block was 287 and the larger was 327 [not a chevy].

Had two 1-barrel carter carbs down inbetween the valve covers. One facing forward and one aft. Was a very popular marine engine in its day. I've rebuilt several.

I had a 16' Resorter with the 170hp. Interceptor based on the Y block Ford and the dual sidedrafts (nick-named the Fireball for good reason). And mine had the bolt holes in the centers of the valve covers. But I wasn't sure whether Interceptor was a Gray Marine product...
I have another Century - Coronado - with the 327 and side drafts, but forgot where the valve cover bolts are. Outasite, outamind!
