Just some pics I shot near Oscoda, Michigan. Spent the holiday in the north, came home to 1 foot of snow.:hangum:

At least your water is still moving with waves. Our lakes around here look like a scene from Grumpy Old Men - fish houses all over the place. 10-20" of ice is typical now. I would guess Lake Superior in Duluth, MN is still open however. Only 3 more months to go Carl. :bawling:

The pics are a little misleading. I hiked out about 200' over ice and ice mounds to get where I could see the water! The whitecaps were breaking over the ice but I couldn't get the pic I wanted because of the shutter delay. Definately not a day to be out there on a boat, but quite a sight! Yeah, 3 more months, 2 1/2 if lucky.:crossfing:

those pictures dont look like summer. Kind of like the boat in the backyard, nothing looks colder than a boat wrapped in plastic.Memorial day takes to long to get here and the next day is labor day at least it feels that way.:eek!:

ok, summer is back!!! 60* and I was running errands in shorts and T-shirt! If the lakes were open I would have gone out for a quickie just to say I boated in Michigan in January. All I have to do is push the little buttons in on the cooling system and she's ready to go.

Oscoda's a nice town, got friends with a place on Lake Van Etten, stopped by a few times on my way to Presque Isle and Cheboygan.

Oscoda's a nice town, got friends with a place on Lake Van Etten, stopped by a few times on my way to Presque Isle and Cheboygan. Lake Van Etten is beautiful and big but I think it's shallow enough to walk across! Maybe I'll put the boat in sometime but will get a chart first. Usually I put into Lake Huron at the mouth of the Au-Sable River.
