Heas anyone used POR-15 rust preventing paint? I've heard great things about it, esy to apply, tough as nails. Thinking of painting the chassis and underbody of the Bronco with it. Any advice would be appreciated. Should be painting by Monday, been working on the damn thing everyday.

I used clear por-15 on the underside, vent ducts and under fender panels of my 1957 T-Bird and it worked great. The only problem is that the left over material does not store for long periods of time after opened. It is recommended that it be kept in the refrigerator after opening. Great stuff otherwise. :convertib:

Make sure you're done w/whatever prep work, rust removal, etc. before using it. A friend found this out the hard way.

I have never used it but here's an article from an auto restorer magazine fwiw. :)

BTW In case you haven't checked them out, Eastwood is a good source for restoration stuff. They may be a little more expensive but their customer service and support does not get any better. They also have a great forum.

Don't do it if you're trying to take care of rust or scale. Sealing rust under paint will never work and will cost you more money in the end. I sand blast and acid prep my frames then paint with PPG DP90 Epoxy Primer. DP90 is tough as nails after it sets up and dries to a flat semi-gloss black finish; great for frames and underbodies. DP also comes in gray, red and white.

Chassis is being blasted to bare metal, there will be no rust all when finished.

Scott, you got that right! -12 this morning, coldest of the year so far.

Buiz, might need that firing order again on the 351 next month.

If it's clean metal.....use DP like Rick says......:)
