I am in the process of having some work done to my Procharged 502. Going to take it to 555 cubic inches using lots of expensive goodies. We are putting on some Dart 1 heads, upping the boost to around 8 lbs, bigger injectors, installing a MEFI 4 with a 2 bar map sensor. Going to use some heavy duty stuff to keep it going (high volume coolers, 12 quart pan, higher flow fuel system etc). Going to have it all set up and tuned on the dyno then more tuning in the boat.

Ok I know this is a guessing game so my guess would be 735 to 750! Now are you going to stuff it back in the big or sneak it into the little one :eek!:

Going to put it in the X-18 with an Arneson! Ha. No, definately going in a bigger boat. Heck, I think that X-18 is plenty of a hoot with 350 hp:eek!:

Tex is pulling somewhere just north of 700 hp with his pretty blue 500 EFI, iron heads and 5 lbs of boost.

My engine builder has done a combo similar to this before. He definately has a figure in his head.

One of the guys down here just put in a 540 blower motor into his 27 zx stepped hull .. I think his engine is a little north of the 700 hp mark ... he is installing an o2 sensor to do a little tuning and thinking of going to a 2" shorty ... Does the shorty make a difference ? thanks and i will keep you posted of his results ...

Yes, it does on a 27ZX stepped hull. The Last Real Texan uses one on his. The 26ZX has already has a higher X dim. I am planning to use a standard IMCO lower with the 1.25" shaft.

I would like to know about his results. If he dials it in well he should see mid 80's or maybe a little more. LRT has a best of 85.9 on his hull. He better make sure that he has full hydraulic steering. Things will get interesting in the high 70's, after that it settles out. I have driven that hull at just north of 80mph.

My goal is to break 90 and not just by .1 mph. I would like to make 850 but we shall see.

I think that is boogying pretty good. I would not mind knowing if it has been done before. I kind of thought this might spark some interest. But heck, I thought that you taking a 27ZX where no man has gone before was pretty darn interesting.

I will go 845 if the cam is correct and a real 8psi of boost.

That would be great. We are shooting for somewhere around that.

Careful tuning! Don't want to melt.

I know of up to 1,000 hp done with a similar setup. Lot's of boost in that one. He goes through a bunch of drives. I would like a good 825 -850.
