HI guys,

I'm currently looking at a boat im told was built in 1996 as a 30th aniversay model 22 classic. Picture below.

The boat and I are in Australia, and there is a bit of a viod in available infomation on the model. So thats left me with a few questions.
Are #HIN unique for the 30th anivesary series?
It Has suposedly seen 93.1MPH and weigh in at 1457kg. But i would guess that the speed is at least a little on the ambitious side.
The engine has lowish hours and i'm told is a 7.3 merc would that be the right motor for this boat?

By what methods can I tell if this is a genuine 30th aniversay model? and if it is genuine is it worth a premium?

Kind reguards

Yes it's an anniversary boat... As far as pulling a premium, I really doubt it. Seems like Donzi makes the special editions to sell more boats, there are a lot of them over the years.

the engine should be 7.4 liter (454 Mag). 93 MPH is very high, unless he has done a TON of work to the engine. I'd say you are looking at a roughly 70MPH boat in stock form.

I've seen that photo before on this site. I can't remember when or where exactly, but I've seen it.

P.S. Welcome to the board.:wavey:

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
The image is off the Boatpoint advertisment. (perhaps he owner is a member here?)
I haven't contacted the seller yet, believeing it is better to go armed with accurate information.
That said, I seem to have gotten my details mixed up!
No top speed specified, 7.4ltr merc and about 100kg more then i mentioned. Sorry for the confusion...have looked at too many boats in the last few days!!!
Would it have hydraulic steering? 70mph is plenty for me.
Are the hulls and deck fully cored?

shhhhhh...the minister for war and finance might hear you
But things being what they are, I think it will remain in origional condition.

And I read of porpoising issues at faster speeds?

I have the baby sister to that boat a 1996 16', so rest assured that it is the real deal. As for the speed that will remain to be seen but I suspect your experience will be more in line with reality :bonk:.

... And I read of porpoising issues at faster speeds?

Some 22s will porpoise at MID-range speeds. Prop selection is a factor in if it will porpoise or how much it will porpoise. If it does, trimming in, dropping the tabs, or speeding up will cure it.
