The brochure states external hydraulic steering is standard but the Shelby photos don't show it ???

The early Blueliner’s  (oops sorry they’re called Shelby's) did not have hydraulic steering. I believe the early boats also came with 25P props while the later ones were coming with 27P props.

A good portion of the sales price also goes to C. Shelby for licensing of the name.

This is my brother in- laws Shelby. I had use of it for a couple of days on Lake Norris TN.
It takes A LOT of tab on this one to keep it from porpoising on a calm Lake. This make's it a lil tricky driving with out indicators to repeat the setting of proper tab/trim for the same speeds.I am told a prop change should settle it down. It came with the Mirage 25P.
It sure turns heads and get's the thumbs up !

Just bought one, blue with white stripes. I understood from the Donzi factory that there were only three new ones left in the US. Now there are only two if they were correct. Haven't had the opertunity to take it for a ride yet but definitely looking forward to it. The dealer that delivered it to us said it will run close to eighty. Should be a rush.

than Shelby.

I have about 200 shots of the thing taken by an infamous South FLA photographer.

Take another look at that hatch scoop. Single breather. Not a problem for me, but the BLACK interior was, not to mention the gauges running all the way over to the passenger side where my tired eyes could not possibly see them.

Who got this one?

the dark red one in nashville that is supposed to be Alan Jackson's is REAL NICE. One scratch on the engine hatch, but you could tell people that Al did it with a ski! Somebody needs to make an offer and then tune that fine looking beast.

From the factory...The owner can request power up to a 525...its just money and how much u wanna spend?? For that matter...Maybe others can chime in ...but is the new 7-10 an option they will install?

The 496 and 496 Mag HO are the only engines I am aware of being available.
The Ilmor's are NOT an option...not sure if THE Mercury 525 is available either... although the 22 max HP is rated at 525. If you step up the the plate $$$ they would probably build another 525 boat.

No raised X
the X was up 1.5 inches. Of course, this came from the owner's rigging guy, who also had it turning left with a LH 27 Mirage. That had to be entertaining combined with 280s and the long skeg from the sportmaster. No wonder the thing was put up for sale with 14 hours on it.

One thing I did like was the kevlar in the layup schedule.

So how did it run during the test run Ted? Any idea where it landed?

If this GT is such a nice boat then why did the original owner decide not to keep it? I don't know the story on the original owner but he sure didn't keep the boat very long.

DonziFreak,
This boat was built between the Aronow and Shelby Edition builds. After the Aronow Edition was canceled in mid 05', and before the Shelby deal was worked out, Donzi was building this version under the name "22-GT". It didn't last very long because Donzi soon announced the Shelby deal after the 2006 Dealer Conference where they showed the plain jane GT. The plain jane GT's have the smaller hood scoops. Donzi lost the rights to the "Aronow-22" name after some legal stuff so they switched to the the model name "22-GT" then later to the "22 Shelby-GT".

R, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. The boat was built to order with some strange stuff in it. Dash layout per the owners request came out horrible IMO, and there were some other oddities (including tab location) about it. Story was it was an older gentleman who ordered it, and once it was in his hands he realized that it was not going to be something he and his kids could just tool around in. Last I heard it was at Fastboats.com as a trade...

Salesman folklore.....

I can tell you that whoever set up the dash likes it exactly opposite of the way I like it.

I prefer the temp/oil pressure/etc. to be up front and personal. Speedo can be on the other side of the boat for all I care.

I heard it mention once that the deep fin sportmaster drive and the 22C are not a good combination. I believe the reference was this boat but I'm not 100% sure.

This boat should be lighter then a 500-SE with more power, should be at least low to mid 80's.

I'm waitin with roadtrip.

The Bravo drives are not directional, just depends how you hook up the cable on the shifter.
It left the plant with a right hand prop.

PM me with any specific questions. I can not comment further on the open forum.
