Ordered a 45 gal. fuel tank from Transflow in Ca. Took me almost 6 hrs to install but it was well worth it. I can't imagine a 2500 HD pickup factory equiped with a 23 gal tank, seems I was always at the pumps. Thanks Matt for the heads up on the oem replacment tank.

Farmer Tx, where did you get the larger tank, and what's the cost? Thanks, Steve

Mark, did it have a third support on the left end, or is that part of the tank just cantilevered? Also, how do they get the air out of the left side of the tank? There must be some sort of vent eh?

I put one of those in my 2001 HD3500, and it was well worth it, wasn't cheap, and it took about 1/2 day even having a hoist... very well thought out.

George I was thinking the same thing about that last chamber.

Anyone thinking of getting a replacement tank should check out Titan fuel tanks, they are made of the same material as the factory tanks, so there is no rust issue or welds to fail and leak. http://www.titanfueltanks.com/

$995.

George, There is an ell on both sides of the tunnel thet the crossmember goes through with a hose between to vent the front chamber. And it is cantilevered.
We are headed to the local pond to check out the new engine in PJ's boat. Trying to put a few hours on it before we put it away for the winter.

Hey Mark It's Matt,
I never really post on here much.
I was all ready to get a new tank for my truck, but the price of diesel went way up. I'm already payin 80-90 to fill up my truck, so at this point I don't want to swipe my credit card 4 times to fill up. As soon as prices go down though, mine will be ordered. I do have one question about it though. Does the gas gauge work correctly? I was reading about some people having issues with that.
I hope your doing well, and I'll talk to you soon.
Matt

Matt, Low fuel indicator light on = 10 gal. gauge at 1/2 = 25 gal. when I filled it the first (and only) time so far. They give you a small adhesive sticker to notate the volume of fuel at indicated intervals. Just as long as I am close thats ok.

I'll look into it, but I think if you have the correct programmer you can reprogram it. Which would be really nice.
