That looks like a great idea. Its still lighter than Yamaha's 804 lb 350 v8 outboard. I cant wait till they put more specs on it and test it on a real boat with real performance #'s. :yes: That really looks like a VERADO lower unit

There was a group that sponsered a fairly long catamaran (30-40') w/two 15 HP diesel outboards (Yamaha ??? I don't remember) that did a trans- Pacific crossing about 10 years ago. Ran on bio-diesel from soy beans or some such. It was successful but the engine costs were rather astounding.....$20K each???, for 15 HP!!!!!!
This one looks pretty neat. I hope it has a balance shaft because a 3.0 L four cylinder w/o one would not be pleasant to be with for a long time!!!!
I also wouldn't be surprised if they were'nt $50 K each.

I know where you can get some new old stock Yanmar 27hp diesel outboards. Not sure exactly why, but they are not elgible for US import any more. They make great motors for yacht tenders.
