The Factory donzi site list 1981 as the first year for a 22 classic, But I could have sworn I have seen older ones listed in classified ads. ????

The bottom is slightly different on the earlier 22's
Cliff besides the newer chines being turned down a bit is there anything else different?

Not that I'm aware of. I believe that it's just the reverse chine.
