Does anybody know where I can purchase a set of muffs for my bravo outdrive with high speed water pickup? The outdrive does not have vents on the side only on the bottom of the drive.

I assume you are referring to the low water pickup on the bullet end of the nose cone. Go to Mercury parts express website. The accessory page has muffs that were designed for you application.

thanks for the reply I checked that site out. The muffs were 75.00. I thought that was pretty excessive for a cone shaped piece of rubber and a small bungy. Has anybody ever made one out of hardware parts?

How about a wash tub full of water that is fed by a garden hose? Tilt the drive up, position the tub, lower the drive, and fill it with water - leaving the hose running.

I've never done it but seems that would work

I use a HUGE igloo double door cooler sometimes... works great

+1 on the tape idea, just make sure you remember to pull it off. i've done the tub of water too, works, but the engine will eventually outrun the hose, and it's more trouble than the tape.
