I think I remember a registry member saying when asked about a Spitfire for sale, "If it was an El Pescador, it would be a done deal.........":D

after talking to oldred there was a question on how a jacksahfted el would run i have owned 2 els first one was 454 with mercuiser and large fuel tank foward of console standard rig my current boat has engine under console with drive shaft back to volvo duo drive so you have no engine box with 2 40 gallon fuel tanks in the rear and a 30 gallon front of console so after owning both it rides just as well as my other el without the engine box also the former owner had hoog boats of miami change the front deck so there is no step up and of course any one who wants to go for a ride a serious ride let me know just beware that it will ruin you for any other boats around 24 ft iwill post lots of pics on monday i just hope the 28 sportman i boght will ride as well thanx everyone for response

It will, they had their $hit together, and founded designs and principals, "FOUNDATIONS" that we all live now... :) They created "Good Data" from experimental and proven designs, be it strake attack, placement or otherwise. ALL successful boats. Now we take this same info and feed it into computers and are able to "predict" success in design...

...I think... CDMA would know more, these guys with NO access to simulations and a trillion alorgarithms did it pretty good

Thanks JIM/WALT/DON/BROWNIE :)

by the time you finish that 28 Sportsman, you could have bought my Cary and had 20k left over...

Trust me on that, I have first hand knowledge I will have 100K in my 28
and thats doing 60% with my own labor, not that its not woth it to me
but a 40year old boat isnt woth it on paper. I like it though. That Cary of
Jims is a one of a kind.

i had a 28 cary great riding boat but dual engine boxes took up a lot of room and it had a small cabin, the 28 sportsman has bunks for 4 and small galley ,with a head and shower, plus engines are below deck so you have a 9 ft x 11 cockpit i think it will be the perfect boat for dive trips to the dry tortugas

I Know! I have the same hull on a 1976 24' Spirit nothing like it. Love your restoration! Is that gelcoat or paint? Any idea where I can get a new full set of those decals? Jack
