Doing some finish out work on the X-18.

What are those draining boxes that hook onto the blower vents on the underside of the deck. I have them on the ZX and was wondering if the classics have them. I don't have the 16 near by to compare.

Pardon my ignorance!

I will take a stab at, both my 16 and 22 had/have the blower mounted directly under the starboard side aft vent. They used long machine screws from the top down to hold it up.

The vent boxes only go with multi vents like the Criterion and Minx type vents the single vents don't have them. However it is a common item at West marine.

So I guess that I can hook the vent hose straight up to the vent and if a little water splashes down there than no biggie?

Not sure if you have 4 vents or not but if you do the normal setup is, starboard side forward open taking air in with no hose, stbd aft blower with hose to the bilge sucking out, port side forward air in with hose going into the bilge, port aft air no hose. Hope that helps with your thoughts.
