I need a complete v-drive for my 1969 Classic 18. The output shaft on the original Crusader V-4600 snapped and ate the interior of the casing, as well. I'm powered by a 454 Mercruiser. Neither I nor my mechanic have had any luck in locating a replacement. If anyone has, or knows of a Crusader unit or another v-drive I can use as a replacement, I'd appreciate the help.

Crusader is a great unit, I have 800hp in my Hornet with no trouble.
Call Phil Bergeron 480-834-1531 He is a expert and a great person.
Tell him John Shahbas told you to call him. You probably need one with
15% overdrive gears and im sure he has it. Good luck email me at

jhstri@aol.com for any help

Jerrys Marine has rebuilt Crusader v-drives. They are wholesale only and I can get stuff from them, let me know if I can help you out.

Try this link for Crusader V drives: http://knightmuzzleloaders.com/Transmissions.html

He advertizes a 4500 model which is what is in my Hornet. I believe he also rebuilds them as well.

Thanks much for the offer. I'd really like to get moving on this 'cause I'm running out of summer. I'll tell my mechanic we've got a lead.
Thanks, again.

Your mechanic may very well have an account with Jerrys. I will call them today to see what they have, regardless.

I checked the site and they offer a 4500 for ~$3500. Thanks, much. I gave the info to my marina's service manager.
