I'm not sure of the Miami Boat Show dates, but, Polly and you certainly have a place to stay when you get down here. I'm in Homestead.

If you have never been on the first day (Thursday) try to go that day. I don't know if the rules have changed, but you used to need a dealer pass to get in on Thursday. Hook up with a dealer, beg, borrow, or steal to go on Thursday because it is much more pleasant.

just poked around on that miami boat show web site... looks like you can buy your way into Thursday now.

I'm not sure if it's still worth it or not, anyone have recent experience? I haven't been for a few years now.


Anyone want to do a Donzi poker run or even that weekend too?

Mark, best easy day for show is Thurs., but Fri isn't too bad if you can't make it early.... we have cocktails on Fri. night somewhere's, and a day run on Saturday to the Keys for lunch... Sun. is open for more show or more boating, your choice...

This year there were postings that they would leave from Black Point Marina on Saturday morning at 9 AM. I went down there to meet the group, and nobody showed up. Some thing about, it was toooo cold for them.

I know FL powerboat club does a keys Poker run for the show too, but the price to get in on that one are off the chart. :eek!:

We'll put together a run as the time approaches.. Boat storage is available, so if your worried about leaving your boat in a hotel parking lot, don't..

Thanks guys, we are trying to arrange the 10 week vacation:wink: between a rerig, Blackhawk skunkworks in Tenn., Mexico and destinations unknown. PJ and I have been wanting to make this for a number of years and 08 looks like the one. Hell I think it took us that long to finally get to Powell and hook up with RickSE, now I will make the 12 hr drive at the drop of a hat. So I guess if we make it to FL you won't be able to get rid of us.

It is the Superbowl of boat shows. The year before last, Saturday was a great run from Black Point to Isla Morada.

I'll be solo, so the trick will be getting the checkbook out of the house. Not really.

We are still dreaming of a Formula SS, maybe a 33 or better yet, a 37. Will arrange multiple demo rides at the Mariott docks. Gimme another year or two to get moved, houses sold, and the like...

Running 55mph and smoking a cigar behind that big stainless windshield, after an early morning blast in the SE!
Then retiring to the lounge for a quick movie in the A/C, sipping on a cold martini, and all the while swinging on the hook out on Lake Cumberland.

Well, at least we can live the life for a few days while in Miami this February. It's all Fast Eddie and Augusta's fault. I should have never taken that tour on the 33 at Lake George!

As for the real estate reference, time to get out of Michigan, but it could take awhile. Most likely end up in Nashville, which is the biggest metro area closest to our lake place.
