Hi all,

1973 X-18 for sale in Minneapolis/St. Paul area, $4,000 firm. Big block jet, trailer. Black. Needs a little TLC but a great boat. I've owned her for 5 years. I bought a cabin and don't have the time. It's not advertised yet -- I thought I'd try here first.

Pics tonight or tomorrow per policy. :lookaroun:

I've always loved the boats here and gotten a kick out of the characters on this site. I will still visit for old times sake.

Erik

Thanks for all the PM's.

The requested pics are coming - hopefully on the board tonight.

454 Chev. Never had it dynoed but seat of the pants says stock w/325-345hp or so?? It definately has build potential. Berkeley jet. Not tuned for top end but I've had it around 60mph according to speedo (no GPS).

My father is the lucky one to be fortunate enough to aquire this beauty! I helped put the deal together as it his 60th Birthday this year and wanted him to have something special!! His powerboating roots go back to the old flat bottomed, open header BBC jet boat days! He has always enjoyed the Donzi crowd and wanted to rejoin the great group of men and women that make up the elite Donzi collectors! This boat allows him to enjoy both aspects!!

Thanks to Brose for cunducting this sale in a professional manner!:)

Thanks to Lenny for letting us have her!!

Look for her at the 2007 Fall Ohio River Cruise and 2008 AOTH!!!!

Heck, I was fourth in the pack this year at AOTH at 80-81, so I might as well give up the show off factor with the rooster, too. I saw the boat in 1000 Islands that MOP is talking about. Very cool ride.

We'll see how she runs! I guess at the very least she will have quite a rooster tail!

Lets compare tails Labor day! :eek!::wink: I will call you when we decide on our plans.

On another note I need the contact info for whoever the latest Donzi interior comany is? The x needs a new interior and the correct buckets! I understand Bob(Bilt-Rite) is done doing interiors??

Also need a set of engine hatch hinges.

Byron,
I have been using a Amish kid located in Ashland Ohio, Attached is a pic of my Bullet seat that he did from scratch for $125.00 He also did my cig for $450.00 I won the boat show 2 years in a row with it.He did a couple Donzi's already...but now the custom car clubs found out about him and hes about 6 to 8 months booked up. let me know if you want the contact info.

Cool,

We'll be down the weekend of Labor Day, the week after, and Poker Run weekend, so we'll have to break out the armada.

Sea Dog, I believe, has engine hatch hinges that are basically IDENTICAL to what is on your "X" . I bought a set (well two sets actually) so that I could put on a left set and a right set so that the hatch would slide sideways when opened. They fit the same holes, all that.

Any updates on this boat??

Here is a link I to the work I did on it for dad this spring.

http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthread.php?t=52571&highlight=X-18

He used it a few times this past summer. It ran well and is an absolute blast. Still needs interior and misc details. I think its getting a motor transplant this winter.

A few pics from the summer............

I've got 1973 18X like yours with a Olds 455. Factory tag say Olds 455 and Berkley jet drive. My seats look the same.

Wonder how far apart our serial numbers are.

This beauty is sold! I was third in line, (just missed it by THIS MUCH!) but have enjoyed seeing it come along. There is a thread that shows that it is coming quite along in the appearance dept. I barely missed again, seeing it at the 2008 AOTH. Hopefully this year. T

> A Jet!!! Well at least it can be
transformed with an Arneson, plus
a company in HotBoat Mag sells
a prop conversion bolt on for
Jets.
Jets make great ski boats (I hear)
but you just can't chop stuff up
like you can with a prop. right?!
