prop advice zx22

I just got a 2000 zx22 with 454 It has a 25 four bade on it and i can`t get ovr 62mph.Is this the right prop for my boat?And the proper speed

i have a 99 zx...same motor. i am running a 24/4 balde..same results. 62 mph @4800 wot. i think a 3 blade would get more top end..maybe a 22 4 blade. I havent tried any other props,just getting advice so far. Bill ne ohio

I had a 1997 22ZX with a 454Mag. I ran a 4 blade Bravo 1 prop (24P????) and had about the same results. To get max speed, the better choice is the Mirage Plus 23P which I believe is what they came with from the factory.

'06 22ZX, stepped hull, 350 Mag MPI. Bravo One drive with 1.65:1 ratio, Bravo 24P 4-bladded prop. 62MPH GPS at sea level. 5100 RPM on the tach.

Boat came with Bravo 22P 4-bladded prop. Ran 58 mph.

Getting the Bravo 24P prop "cupped" about 3/8" more.

Assuming that you have the 330hp 454, your speed is about right. You could move down in pitch and improve accelleration, but your top end wont go higher until the fever sets in and you spend all of your vacation money on the boat. Remember that the faster you want to go, the more money you are going to spend.

I'm Volvo, so my specs prob don't match you guys. But I got '99 w/ 454 (7.4GI and SX drive). Using Hydro 25p 4-blade (labbed and blue printed) and hitting mid 60's at 4300rpm. I have a 26p 3-blade and get the same rpm and speed, but the boat won't come on plane without milking the throttle or it will break loose and spin. I also have a 23p three blade that I think came with the boat. Haven't tried it but the previous owner says that it breaks loose getting on plane, is slow, and hits the rev limiter.

The Hydro cruises at 50mph at only 3800rpm and burns about 10gph....

mines a 98 with 454 23p 3 blade mirage plus. Going exactly 62 at 4600rpm wot.
