Hello! I have searched and red the 330 posts "16 + prop", wow there is alot of info on this site! My little donzi has the porpoise issue i'm reading about, and was just wondering what props anyone is running with the same setup as me, as I need one today , found a new underwater stump :(

Thanks in advance!!

You have probably found that most people are tunning on similar boats a Precision propeller Turbo or a Mirage plus. I personally like the Turbos much better as do most people. There are some people who prefer the M+. I feel the Donzi is more stable with the Turbo.

Porpoising is pretty common on 16's. Mine porpoises like a SOB between 30-40 mph (even trimmed all the way down), then flattens out. Props will help, but my final solution was trim tabs. Trimmed up slightly on the drive, with about 3 seconds down on my Bennetts makes it run as smooth as silk.

Mine also tends to chine walk above 52 mph. Driver input can help, but once agian, a little tab helps but takes a little off the top end. It is the only time I use them. Good luck!

A 21" Turbo 1 is probably your best choice.

21" to 22" turbo hands down depending on your rpms.

Here's my experience. 2003 16 with stock mpi 5.0/Alpha 1, Gen 2 (same as yours). I am running a Turbo 1, 22 pitch. At full throttle, the tach shows 5000 rpm and the GPS shows 62.0 mph!!!

I get chine walk when the fuel tank is empty, in fact on the same night as I hit 62.0, I was able to hit 61.6 with a quarter tank of fuel and 2 passengers (about 250# of passengers).

The 62.0 run was me (170#) and just fumes in the tank. Also, it's worth noting that I have the GLM aluminum manifolds. The GLMs and removing my 2nd battery saved me over 100 pounds, so your mileage may vary.

No prop will eliminate your mid-speed porpoise (30-40 mph). Just drive through it. If you are trying to cruise in that speed, a little down tab will help, but you don't want them down when you are at speed.

PM me if you have more questions.
