My friend has a 1966 formula Jr. Thunderbird 289. It was Purchase at the 1966 New York Boat Show, With Stainless Steel Trailer, and the Engine is a Ford 289 with Holman Moody stamped all over it. Its in great shape, And he wants to sell it. I just have know Idea what its worth.

ttools, posting some pictures will tell us what we need to know.

The 289 (200hp) was the highest HP option at the time.
Very, very few are found that were kept completely original.

I'll get Picturce this week. Were most of these 1966 formula Jr. Thunderbird 289 outfitted by Holman-Moody?

The H/M 289 would have been the top of the line build for this boat in '66. But you said it was bought at the '66 boat show, so it makes sense. I love these boats for how they perform, look, and the history behind them. The general market is not, however, aware of what these are (few people have even seen one) so that tends to drive down the price. You will even hear people say, "They look just like a Donzi." The more you know about them, the more amusing that statement becomes.
