I have just repowered Big-D with 496 HOs.
Big-D still has the 2 Gaffrig hourmeters from years ago, which have 400 hours on them.
Does anybody know if these hourmeters can be run backwards to zero?

how is she runing with the new power ?
Richard should be a very nice ride with the new power! If you decide to replace the hour meters then you have nothing to lose reversing the power, I have seen it done some work some just die!

is reversing the polarity going to blank out and reset the meters or is it just going to make them run backwards?? so if they run backwards he only has 400 hours to loose?? or he can double the power and go to 24 volts and time will go twice as quick 48 volts even quicker ;) :propeller:

Oh, I think if he reversed the polarity at 48 volts, time would go very quickly indeed - as in 'up in smoke'.

if they are 1000 hour meters you can leave them hooked up to the battery while they are on the charger over the winter and in 600 hours problem solved ;)
