what kind of boat?

assuming some sort of Donzi, I'm gonna take a stab and say a 19p wheel is way under propped no matter how you look at it.

I've got a 23p cleaver on a shelf, it wasn't the right prop for my setup, could be for yours though.

If you have an honest 380-400hp I would guess you should be in the 25 pitch range to stick around 5000-5200 rpm. I would think a round ear prop would work better than cleaver on a classic but I could be wrong.

LOL! Lee...see if you can have the cleaver repaired for a small fee and start from there if not go with the try before you buy plan, but you really need to find out what cam specs you have to run in the correct torque curve,BTW is the prop a lefty or a righty?

At the 07 1K run I pulled a 23 Mirage off an 18 with a 383 that was a nightmare above 4700, I lent Fred a 2+2 Turbo 22" 4 blade. He loved the prop but the boat settled down great but still needed some pitch. My extra 2 cents I HATE CLEAVERS & MIRAGES!

Hey MOP - I was going to say if you wanted to fly out to Tahoe next month with us I'd get you some seat time in my 22.....BUT..... it's got a Mirage on it!

Maybe if you just bring your own prop?

Hmm went from 5000k partial throttle to 4800? some ting wong.. you should be wingin the chit out of that thing with a 19 p lazer II prop..ar the vent holes open or plugged off?

If your tach is correct and the internals are truly 1.50 and you turn only a 19 laserll And the engine is running well in an 18 classic you do not have even 250 hp check all the above. Something isn't right.

I just went through this whole bussiness of propping my swee 16 with a 4.3v6 in it.
I settled on a new lazor 11 25 pitch.
Very nice and smooth and I can now run the boat flat out at 4900 rpms. Great whole shot and holding in the corners and lift.
Check out Kawartha props in Peterbourgh area in canda.. They ship and tryouts with your credit card of course...But sell lots of new and consigment new & used.
I bought my lazor 11 new for 500 Canadian.
From my reading and understanding now cleaver props are not meant for deep drive boats like the donzi, but outdrives and outboards that run very high in the water..
good luck.:Canada:

like big griz said,,you probably have a stocker somewhere around 250 or 260 hp..sounds like the 19 pitch is what you need..mines over 400 hp and spinning a 24p through a volvo with a A drive 1.62 at 6200 rpm in 2 to 3 footers, its a hand full so what ever you do read the waves and hang on..
