I've gotten a bit more comfortable with driving my ZX, but I do have a question about tabs. I haven't really used them for anything other than leveling the boat; & I've been conserative with the amount of trim (it's the stepped hull thing  ). I usually trim it to the point that I can feel the boat get a bit loose in the back, then I bump it back down a bit, but it seems as if that is the point where the boat wants to run. I just don't like the feeling, or perhaps I just haven't gotten used to the feel. So my question is....When I get to that point with the trim, would it benefit to drop the tabs a bit, or would that make things worse? This is only going straight, not while turning...that could be a bad thing  .

That is the feeling, you will get use to it. use the trim not the tabs except for leveling or to keep the bow in certain conditions.
