22zx vberth pad

I bought my 22zx and it has a big hole below the vberth where you can store fenders, dock lines anchors etc. It looks like it was made to have a piece cover this but I dont have it and all the other zx's ive seen dont have it either. I was thinking about just buying some plywood, viny and foam building my own. I thought about covering the plywood in fiberglass resin and using stainless staples to hold the vinyl down. Maybe even buying a gas strut and some hinges. Do you guys have any ideas or maybe a place where can buy this part and forget about building it.

I have a 22zx, my cushion looks just like the v, only square (same tickness, zipper ect). It sits on two 1/2 half inch pieces of plastic (the same stuff they use on the door to the cuddy). You sould have two small white tabs on the edges of the hole they keep the two pieces from sliding backwards.
