How well does the Volvo 270 outdrive hold up (at 355hp and 405ftlb tq)? Can they be replaced with a Merc without allot of glass and patch work? Any problems indicative of this era Donzi other than the usual age related stuff?

The Volvo holds up very well. I've thought about converting to a Merc, but it hasn't broke yet and it would be easier to just add trim to the Volvo than convert to Merc. The only thing I do not like about the Volvo is how long the outdrive is.

Are you the owner? If so, when was the new motor put in? Are all the cables and wiring original? Does everything work?

I am the owner. The original owner (person I purchased the boat from 4 years ago) put the ZZ4 engine in. I'm not sure when he did that. Everything worked last year. Not all of the wiring is original since they had to wire things up for the new engine, but there is still some original wiring in the boat. They put new teleflex gauges in when they put the engine in and I replaced them with the Autometer gauges 4 years ago. I added a pic of the new gauges on the ebay listing.
