that's not a lot of info to go on - what kind of boat to you have?

What gear ratio on the alpha?

Why aluminum? Have you considered a stainless with a rubber hub?
Aluminum isn't typically good for performance applications, because of its lack of strength and corresponding flexing at speed.

Have you done a search on this forum? A lot of guys here run similar engine numbers and have posted their results here.
