Michael, I have a 25ft. ZX Donzi with a 460 cobra Engine with an OMC outdrive. The org. prop that came w/ the boat was lost. We put a 17.5 pitch 3 blade stainless prop on it last year (2006). We had to pull the engine on it b/c it blew a cilinder. So the engine is like new now. The RPM's were way to high at top end. Only positive thing about the prop it got the boat out of the water quicker. So I'm wondering what is the correct pitch and prop for this yr. boat model and engine size. The engine manual says it should not go over 4500rpm's at full throttle. And the charts I've looked at for that size motor recomend somewhere b/w a 19-20 pitch props. So if you could help me out that would be great! Email me at rewehe@yahoo.com

I'm wondering why a 17.5 pitch was put on the boat in the first place. IMO, the boat calls for a 23 inch pitch, if the engine is a big block Ford / Cobra package. At 4400 RPM, the boat should go about 55MPH.
