89' 25ft. ragazza as a fishing boat?

What's up guys. I have a 89' 25ft. Regazza, which was given to me with a blown motor. It has an older cobra outdrive. I have a 350 chevy motor, ready to go, and i was going to put a mercruiser outdrive and transom assembly on it in place of the omc cobra. Now comes the big question. What do you think of this boat as a fishing machine? We gutted out most of the gingerbread stuff, and now have alot of room in it. Would like to take out in ocean.(wreck fishing, sharkin,etc.) Talkin around 30 miles out. Boat even has door in transom. Most guys i talk to say why waste yor time with it. But i thought to myself, not talking to donzi owners. Figured i'd get the real scoop right here. So any info would be great. thanks,
