I need to buy one for a Ford 302. On Summit I found two that were $1 apart and compared the two. The difference was one has a 28.2 oz. imbalance, the other is 50 oz. imbalance. Is one better than the other or will one of these not work at all for me? They both say they are for Ford SB. Thanks

The balancer matches the flywheel, you need to use the same as it had before. If you are not sure get the number of the flywheel and check with your local Ford dealer.

Like MOP says. Don't mix and match or things will be shaking all over.

since SBF's are externally balanced you must match the imbalance in the balancer to that of the flywheel which in concert offset the imbalance in the crankshaft due to the small counterweights which are inadequate to offset the crank pins...

pre 82ish 221 / 260 / 289 / 302 use 28.2 oz - in as well as all 351W... post 82 302 use a 50 oz - in flywheel with a 34 oz - in damper.

Or yo ucould just buck up for onna dem high dollar ones from say ATI that allows you to replace weights to meet your specific needs....
