Like all of us, from time to time I like to check out stuff I can't ever afford, which brought me to one of the Big Donzis (I know, not built by our Donzi).

This one is the 80' sportfish, which had a very unusual helm config. Check the pic. Anyone ever see anything like this, or have any idea how it works?
It's the 17th pic in the listing ad. PRetty cool boat for sure.....

Ah yea, that would be the Jastram steering system.

The handle in the middle controls the rudder/rudders. When you move it
side to side the rudders move the same angle.

Sweet, now all I need is $5 mil.

Figured someone would recognize it. That's kind of how I figured it would operate. It would be a pretty cool way to steer the boat. Just weird not seeing a traditional wheel. I've see big yachts with joystick steering too. I really like the throttles\shifters on each side of the helm. When docking something that big, I'd bet you wouldn't touch the "wheel" anyway....do it all with the throttles.

Thanks for the info.
