Here is the new Bravo/383 mag setup and the deck install in process. A big thanks to Tex for the Saturday rescue and hard work. Also a thanks to Mr. Poodle for setting me up with a tank. We will have some more pics later.

Looks great! Are you going to swap out those high risers for standard, you sure don't need them they are for deeper bilge installations.

Forgot to add that the engine hatch closes with about 1/4 inch to spare.........I see a custom cowling in the future for the Big green ZX

I mentioned the high riser on the 383, the openings will be to high for standard headers which are made for the standard opening height. You will have to have custom headers or risers made to match the height of the holes for these, that makes for extra dollars something to consider.

The 4.3 is mostly done. At least for now! Picked up about 10 mph pending on conditions. We still have some fine tuning to be done. There is a slight bog if you stuff the throttle between 3/4 and wide open. We will drop the secondary jets down a size. We also need to have the prop cleaned up and are considering other props. We are leaving some speed on the table as we have a fairly mild cam since plans call for the installation of a centrifugal blower at a later date. I have no doubt that a properly dialed in 4.3 will run with a 350.

The mods gave the engine a much meaner sound. The sound has gone from airplane-like to more like a V-8. The boat is beginning to sound like it means business. I will post some engine picks this weekend when I get it cleaned up. I think it is a nice looking install.

10 mph is pretty impressive ! i don't want to hijack the thread ... If i had to do it all over again i would have worked over mine ... I picked up about 10 mph going from a 4.3 to a 5.7 with a 4bbl . another 7 or so going from the 350 to the 383 ... but i think there is a few more to be found with some simple bolt ons

I think that the 383/16 combo is hot! We wanted to do the V-6 to do something different. I am thinking that the cost difference will be nominal. It will be interesting to see if the handling is different when we break 70.
