I am trying to order a new fuel tank for my 1986 Donzi Classic 22 2+3. RDS told me to check under the access port (under the ski locker?) for a label of some sort. i pulled the whole thing but there is no sticker on the tank. anyone got the info for this tank. I am going to foam it in, same as OE. Speaking of foam, where do I get that stuff and what's it called?

The tag is usualy where they said but sometimes it is up the other end by the fill hose, RDS made the tanks for the 22's surprised they don't have any records. They are 55 gal.

I bought one from them last year. I know where I took it to have it put in, was replacing a tank in another 22 just after mine, so they had two sent to the Boat Hospital in Deland last year. They should be able to look it up by the invoice to the Boat Hospital.

You will need to use 4lb density foam for the tank installation.

Do a google for 'Clear Coat marine foam' should take you right there. They are very helpfull folks .

Definately 30+ if you paint and prep. Just got finished doing that to my 18. We took the 30+ year tank out of my 18. I could not confirm that it had been painted but it sure needed to come out.

Make sure that the water can get out if you use foam. If the water gets trapped in then bad things will happen.

Take a look here and go down to the 4# foam. Read the discription and note this product is reccomended for supporting gas tanks. You will positively need the one gallon kit (one gallon of each part A and part B). This is not a job you want to run out of foam in the middle of it.
