I just put the Z in the water for the first time and she was great. She turns on a dime and goes fast. I was wondering if any of you know much about the 330 hp FI engine that came with it. It says Hi Performance stamped on top of the intake manifold. I suspect this is the sister engine to the Corvette engine of the same year since they look similar.

Also can someone chime in again on the proper way to test for the proper prop. The boat is located at Lake Tahoe at 6700 ft and I am running a 17degree prop on it. That is what came with the boat. It also came with a 19 degree prop as well for sea level running.

The decal on the Flame arrestor says max RPM is 5400. I don't think my speedo was working correctly so I can't gauge my speed. A couple of times I had her around 5000 to 5200 rpm and she seemed to respond very well putting me back in my seat a couple of times.

Any feed back is welcome.

OOOPs,
I forgot to ask how does one determine the gear ratio on my Alpha Drive?

Hi and welcome!
I am no expert put I think you mean 17or 19 in of pitch?
That’s how much distance the prop will move in one revolution- Theoretically!
It will slip! 10-15% is the norm.
I think some one here will help you!
You my look at the prop for Diameter! The first # 14 1/2X 19 ex.
Prop test I think you look for max rpm!
Your close.
Some one here will correct me if I am wrong!
Good luck and be safe!
Beny
PS sounds like a nice boat we need PHOTOS! Thanks
