Mike did it push the guts out the back and is the case savable? They are like hens teeth used, I think the local Merc guy still has one new, last time I asked for Bertram Boy he wanted 2.5k no idea where his head is at now!

As I'm always looking for new sources so I checked out sterndriveconnections.com. They want US $5950. for a CR Alpha1 Gen1. Way high.
www.marinepowerservice.com has them for $3295.
www.dougrussell.com - $3495.

You have to call around. The best prices aren't always as advertised. I only paid $2300 for a CR Alpha.

Your right Cliff, you definetely have to shop. I needed a complete 1.62 ratio drive which isn't the most popular. Most places didn't have one but were happy to order it for the stated prices. I couldn't find anybody with just the CR lower unit. I finally found a dealer that had a new complete drive in inventory for a long time and was happy to make a deal on it. He even changed the input shaft to the one I needed.
