My IMCO shortie is leaking

Well my IMCO lower is dripping gear lube out the lower water pickup. :(

I had some issues installing it. First the plate that covers where the round zinc anode goes was keeping the lower from snugging up tight. Then the bolts for my front caviation zinc was keeping the lower from going all the way up. So basically I installed and removed it 3 times. In that process, the bronze looking ring around the vertical shaft that was in the lower, was stuck into the upper. It was little cocked- so I used a rubber mallet and got it sitting nice and straight. I checked and the o-ring was in place on the lower, and I bolted it all up.

So now the question is, what do I look for when I take the lower back off? Or should I take out the VISA and let a mechanic check it out?

and make sure it isn't coming from inside the torpedo around the prop shaft.

I had this problem with a leaky prop shaft due to a shim not being set properly inside the nose cone.

If it isn't very obvious where the leak is coming from when you take it off, I would take it to a pro, as in drive specialist, to have it pressure tested.
